Where does the antichrist come from and what is his religion
Christians often speculate that The Roman Catholic Church or Islam will be where the Antichrist emerges. However, scripture says that a final kingdom depicted as the toes of iron and clay will be the final kingdom which is destroyed for the coming of Jesus in Daniel 2.
Daniel 2 shows an image with a head of gold, chest of silver, lower body of bronze, legs of iron and toes of the iron of the legs mixed with clay. Then a kingdom made without hands destroys the feet and goes on to be the eternal kingdom of Christ. The interpretation given by Daniel is that the head of gold is ancient Babylon and that 4 other kingdoms will emerge in the future till Christ comes and establishes His eternal kingdom. Persia is the silver chest, Greece is the bronze, Rome is the iron legs and the West is presumably the feet of iron and clay. These kingdoms are relative to the kingdoms that govern the land of Canaan as a Jewish nation. Babylon, Persia, Greece/Seleucid Greeks, Rome and the UN are the only nations since this prophecy which have governed over the land of Canaan as a Jewish nation. incidentally, the UN is exactly a divided kingdom made up mostly of the West (Nations which are of the Roman Empire).
Prophecy indicates that a third Jewish Temple will be built in which the Antichrist will commit the abomination of desolation (likely by standing as God in the temple) and will remove sacrifice and offering. See Daniel 9:24-17, Matthew 24:15-22 and 2 Thessalonians 2:4. In order for this to happen, a third temple must be built. This means Islamic control of the temple mount would need to diminish so that Israel can take control of the temple mount and build the third temple.
We know that Muslims aren't allowed to worship anyone other than allah. If the Antichrist is to be Mulsim, then it might be very unlikely that anyone will worship him. Yes a messiah figure or Imam is to come as a savior. But he isn't to be worshiped. It's likely that Muslims will be persecuted and killed by the antichrist for not worshipping him as god.
Revelations 13:4 says that the beast will be worshipped as god and that the dragon (Satan) will also be worshipped. This is purely Satan worship and not exclusive to any other religion. Verse 15 goes on to say that people will be forced to worship the image of the beast.
In conclusion, the beast will likely emerge from the West or UN and will be his own Satanic religion.
